To stand the best chance of achieving the outcome you’re looking for, it’s important to give notice of your intention to contest the will as soon as possible, as strict timeframes apply. These deadlines differ between states. In Queensland you’ll need to give formal notice of your intended claim within six months and you must then start proceedings within nine months of the date of the deceased’s passing
