John Greenhalgh

Solicitor Director

“Reports that say that something hasn’t happened are always interesting to me, because as we know, there are known knowns; there are things we know we know. We also know there are known unknowns; that is to say we know there are some things we do not know. But there are also unknown unknowns—the ones we don’t know we don’t know. And if one looks throughout the history of our country and other free countries, it is the latter category that tends to be the difficult ones.” – Donald Rumsfeld

John has passionately practised law on the Sunshine Coast for more than 35 years, assisting clients in Litigation, Family Law, Estate and Business planning, and Commercial and Property Law. As John’s career progressed, he established his own firm which has since grown to be one of the most successful regional law practices in Queensland, and one the Sunshine Coast’s largest. With a view to providing the best advice to clients, the practice also has a robust Accounting team to provide Tax and Structuring advice.

John has led the business for more than 20 years, not only growing the depth and experience of the Legal team, but also the Accounting and Tax team. Based on that experience and dealing with his clients’ real world issues, he is in demand for his practical and insightful business advice. John is keenly aware of industry advancements in technology and staffing that have a real world, practical applications and which lead to increased efficiency and profit.

John has been involved in complex Litigation, business structuring and advice, succession planning the multi-million dollar commercial transactions. He brings a broad experience and understanding with an inquiring mind that, with the support of his team, means that there are fewer “unknown unknowns” than you might get in a less diversified professional group.

John has a keen sense of community and volunteers significant time and resources supporting local businesses, schools and not-for-profit organisations.

Away from work life, John is often found cycling, rowing, and boxing.

What will you get from John? You will get his best.

Testimonials

“Tori and John are exceptional solicitors! They helped us mitigate our legal situation with precision and expertise. They provided great legal counsel and were proactive communicators. They collaborated with our accountant (Jason- also highly recommend in their business) to ensure we were able to navigate complexities and we were provided top-notch service. Trustworthy, responsive, and results-driven. Highly recommend”

“Absolutely blown away by the professionalism, friendliness and attention to detail. From the first phone call with this company, they were simply fantastic.

John Greenhalgh went above and beyond what I expected. Taking the time prior to our meeting to follow up directly with lawyers in South Africa, just so he would be fully prepared and ensure all paperwork was handled without a hitch.”

“I can highly recommend John and his colleagues, a very friendly and efficient team.
The planning of my Estate was easy and very professional, and any questions I had were answered clearly, nothing has been too much trouble.”
